The short answer: MetricStream does not publish prices, so the reliable record of MetricStream pricing is what it lists on AWS Marketplace and what public buyers have signed. The AWS listing prices CyberGRC Prime and ESGRC Prime at $180,000 for 36 months each, or $60,000 a year per module. The Illinois Attorney General renewed its MetricStream system for $139,325.26 for one year. And MetricStream's own subscription agreement raises the fee by a fixed 6 percent at every renewal.

Every number below comes from the AWS listing, MetricStream's published Cloud Subscription Agreement, its Microsoft marketplace terms, or US state and UK public contract notices. We read them on 8 October 2026. Where a figure combines software with services, we say so.

With no price list, the order form and its renewal clause are where a MetricStream budget is actually decided.

MetricStream pricing on AWS Marketplace, the only public list price

MetricStream sells one public product on AWS Marketplace, listed as ConnectedGRC integrated with AWS Audit Manager. It is sold only as a 36-month contract, and the refund field reads "Refund Policy is not applicable."

Module on the AWS listing What it covers Price, 36 months Per year
CyberGRC PrimeIT risk assessments, reporting and scoring$180,000$60,000
ESGRC PrimeEnvironmental and social governance$180,000$60,000
CyberGRC WorkshopOnboarding workshop, fee waived$1n/a

Two things follow. First, the unit is the module. A bank that wants IT risk, internal audit and regulatory compliance is buying three products, and the AWS card only prices two of them. Second, a three-year term is the default here, so the true commitment on one module is $180,000, not $60,000. MetricStream also keeps two offers on the Microsoft marketplace, IT and Cyber Risk Management and Internal Audit Management, and both are contact-sales with no figure.

What MetricStream costs a year in public contracts

US federal records hold no prime awards naming MetricStream, which is unusual for a GRC vendor of its size. The public figures come from a state buyer and from a UK public body that has run MetricStream since 2019.

Buyer What was bought Term Amount
Illinois Attorney General (through Dell, MHEC contract)Renewal of the MetricStream GRC and vendor risk system plus professional services31 Jan 2025 to 30 Jan 2026$139,325.26
UK Student Loans CompanyGRC software with implementation servicesAug 2019 to Jul 20211,016,500 pounds
UK Student Loans CompanyGRC SaaS for 36 months, optional 12-month extensionJan 2023 to Jan 20261,095,281.30 pounds
UK Student Loans CompanyDirect award to continue the platformJan 2026 to Jan 2028538,048 pounds excl. VAT

The Illinois number is the most useful benchmark for a US buyer: a single government office running GRC and vendor risk on MetricStream pays about $139,000 a year with services included. The UK history is useful for a different reason. The 2023 contract works out to about 365,000 pounds a year, and the 2026 renewal to about 269,000 pounds a year over two years, so the yearly spend fell once implementation was behind it.

The 2026 award was made without competition. The notice gives the reason as "Single supplier, technical reasons" and says a change of supplier "would result in incompatibility and disproportionate technical difficulties." Read that as the real cost of an enterprise GRC platform: after seven years, the buyer judged that leaving was harder than paying.

The 6 percent renewal clause in MetricStream's contract

MetricStream publishes its Cloud Subscription Agreement (the April 2020 version is the one linked from the AWS listing and from its own site). Clause 3.2 does three things buyers should price in before signing:

  • Order forms renew automatically for one-year terms unless either side gives notice at least 90 days before the end.
  • "The Fees for each subsequent Term shall be increased by 6% from the preceding Term's Fees." That is a fixed step, not a ceiling.
  • Late payment costs 1.5 percent a month, and an invoice 30 or more days overdue lets MetricStream accelerate all remaining fees and suspend service.
Year Fee on a $100,000 subscription Increase vs year 1
Year 1$100,0000%
Year 2$106,0006.0%
Year 3$112,36012.4%
Year 4$119,10219.1%
Year 5$126,24826.2%

The older on-premises style terms on the Microsoft marketplace say something different: annual maintenance and support "may be increased" by not more than 5 percent every 12 months, and reinstating lapsed support costs twice the previous annual fee. Ask which paper your order form sits on. A cap of 5 percent and a fixed 6 percent are very different five-year budgets.

On exit, the agreement says MetricStream returns your data and supplies a backup within 20 business days on an encrypted drive you provide. Migration work is charged at its then current services rates.

MetricStream pricing against Archer, ServiceNow and LogicGate

ServiceNowVendr median $129,871 company-wide, range $43,245 to $702,488Quoted per operator per month on IRM tiers
LogicGateVendr median $53,784, range $12,294 to $136,130Priced per application and power user

For the federal detail behind the Archer row, see Archer GRC pricing, and for the per-application model, LogicGate pricing. The wider market, including mid-market tools that publish prices, is laid out in compliance software pricing.

One module deserves a separate thought. ESGRC Prime costs the same $180,000 as the cyber module, and it governs ESG processes and disclosures. If the task in front of you is producing Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions figures rather than running an ESG control framework, a dedicated carbon accounting tool is a much smaller purchase.

What to negotiate before you sign a MetricStream order

  • Replace the fixed 6 percent with a cap. Ask for "not to exceed 3 percent" or a CPI link. Over five years the difference on $100,000 is roughly $13,000 a year by year five.
  • Move the notice date into your calendar on day one. 90 days before term end is earlier than most procurement teams start a renewal.
  • Price every module you might add. Get the per-module rate for years two and three in the order form, so adding internal audit later is not a fresh negotiation.
  • Write the exit in. A fixed fee for data export in a usable format beats "then current services rates" after seven years of history.
  • Ask about the AWS route. Buying through AWS Marketplace can draw down an existing AWS commitment, which some finance teams treat as already budgeted.

The part a MetricStream license does not settle

A GRC platform holds your controls, risks and audits. It does not decide which rule changed this week and which of your obligations it touches. Large MetricStream programs buy regulatory content as a further layer, and smaller compliance teams often find they are paying six figures mostly to keep a register current.

ComplianceOfficer does that one job. It reads what US regulators publish each day, matches each change to your obligation register, marks the gap and keeps a dated audit trail, at $149 a month or $894 a year, with every plan on the pricing page. If you are weighing a full suite against that layer, regulatory change management software sets out what the layer does, and the scan above shows which rules on your register moved in the last 12 months.

Questions buyers ask about MetricStream pricing

How much does MetricStream cost?

The one public list price is $180,000 for a 36-month contract per module on AWS Marketplace, $60,000 a year for CyberGRC Prime or ESGRC Prime. Public contracts show a one-year Illinois renewal at $139,325.26 with services, and a UK public body paying about 270,000 to 365,000 pounds a year for an enterprise program.

Does MetricStream publish its pricing?

No. Its pricing link opens a contact form and metricstream.com/pricing returns a 404. Vendr carries no MetricStream page and federal records show no prime awards. The AWS listing and public contract notices are the only verifiable figures.

How much do MetricStream renewals increase?

By 6 percent per renewal term under its Cloud Subscription Agreement, as a fixed increase. The contract renews for one-year terms unless notice is given at least 90 days before the end, so the increase applies automatically if nobody acts.

Is MetricStream more expensive than Archer or ServiceNow?

It sits in the same enterprise band. Archer federal renewals run about $30,000 to $330,000 a year, and ServiceNow's company-wide Vendr median is $129,871. A multi-module MetricStream program lands in the low six figures a year on the public evidence.

What happens to my data if I leave MetricStream?

MetricStream returns your data and supplies a backup within 20 business days on an encrypted drive you provide. Any migration work is billed at its then current services rates, so negotiate a fixed exit fee at signing.
