Pricing · AML screening and monitoring
ComplyAdvantage pricing and Comply Advantage cost from its own AWS rate cards, priced against seven AML rivals
ComplyAdvantage sells a self-serve screening plan from $99 a month and quotes everything else. Its own AWS Marketplace listings fill the gap: $65,000 a year for 50,000 screened customers and $30,000 a year each for 30,000 screened payments, monitored transactions or fraud checks. Recorded contracts land at a $52,900 median.

The published rate card
ComplyAdvantage cost on AWS Marketplace, product by product
A vendor that lists on AWS Marketplace has to put a price on every option it sells there, because the buyer pays through an AWS bill rather than a sales order. ComplyAdvantage has four listings under its own seller profile. Each one has a single 12-month line, and each refund field reads "No refunds". We divided the price by the committed volume to get the list unit rate.
| Product | Committed volume | 12 months | List unit rate | What one unit is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening and monitoring | 50,000 a year | $65,000 | $1.30 | A person or company screened and kept under monitoring |
| Payment screening | 30,000 transactions | $30,000 | $1.00 | One payment checked against sanctions and PEP data |
| Transaction monitoring | 30,000 transactions | $30,000 | $1.00 | One payment or account event run through the rules |
| Fraud detection | 30,000 transactions | $30,000 | $1.00 | One screened event, which can include log-ins and profile changes |
Screening only
$65,000
50,000 customers under sanctions, PEP and adverse media monitoring for a year.
Screening plus payments
$95,000
Add 30,000 screened payments, the usual shape for a payments fintech.
All four products
$155,000
Screening, payments, transaction monitoring and fraud at the smallest listed volumes.
Read the transaction lines with care. 30,000 transactions a year is about 2,500 a month, which a small card program passes in a week. The listings price only that entry block, so the dollar a transaction is the top of the curve, not a rate you should accept at ten times the volume. Amazon also shows an auto-written summary under each table. We quote the table and the vendor's own description, not that summary.
Two ways to buy
ComplyAdvantage Starter and Enterprise plans side by side
The website sells a card-paid Starter plan with monitored-entity tiers of 100, 250, 500, 750, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000, from $99 a month, and an Enterprise suite marked POA, priced on application. The line between them is not the screening data. It is what you can screen.
| Item | Starter | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|
| Price | From $99 a month | On application |
| Volume | 100 to 2,000 monitored entities | Unlimited usage |
| Sanctions, PEPs, adverse media, company screening | Yes | Yes |
| Ongoing monitoring | Yes | Yes |
| Transaction monitoring | No | Yes |
| Payment screening | No | Yes |
| Premium support | No | Yes |
Starter bills monthly by card, charges overage in the next cycle and cancels by email at the end of the cycle. Directory snapshots show the Starter variants at $119 (Essentials) and $149 (Agentic) a month, but the vendor page itself prints only "from $99", so treat those as indicative. Past 2,000 customers, or the day you need to screen payments, you are in an Enterprise conversation.
§ 04 · What a real bill looks like
Three ComplyAdvantage quotes worked out from the public cards
List arithmetic for the US buyers we see most often, before any volume or term discount.
RIA or small crypto firm
From $1,188 a year
Starter at the entry tier, screening and monitoring a client book well under 2,000 names. Higher tiers cost more per month.
Payments fintech, 40,000 customers
$95,000 a year
The 50,000 screening commitment plus one 30,000 payment screening block. Each extra 30,000 payments adds $30,000 at list.
Neobank needing the full stack
$125,000 a year
Screening, payment screening and transaction monitoring at the listed blocks. Add fraud detection and it reaches $155,000.
Now set those against the recorded $52,900 median. It sits below even the single screening commitment. Two readings fit, and both matter at the table: most recorded deals buy one product, and most land under list. Knock 20 percent off the $65,000 screening card and you arrive almost exactly at the median. So a first quote at full list for screening alone is a starting position, not a price.
Honest comparison
ComplyAdvantage pricing against seven AML and identity rivals
These tools are not all the same product. Some screen names, some monitor transactions, some verify identity and screen in one step. Read the second column before the price columns.
| Vendor | What it mainly does | Public price | Recorded median (range) | Better than ComplyAdvantage when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ComplyAdvantage | Screening, payment screening, monitoring, fraud | From $99 a month; $65,000 and $30,000 blocks on AWS | $52,900 ($20,493 to $329,730) | Baseline |
| Sumsub | Identity verification with AML screening | $1.85 per verification, $299 monthly minimum (Compliance plan) | Not reported | You need ID checks and screening in one onboarding step |
| SEON | Fraud prevention, AML on the upper plan | Starter $699 a month for 2,500 checks, no AML; Premium on quote | Not reported | Fraud is the first problem and AML screening the second |
| Minerva | Screening, onboarding and monitoring | $65,000 for a 50,000 commitment on AWS | Not reported | You want a second quote at the same volume and price shape |
| Unit21 | Transaction monitoring and case management | Quote only | $151,746 ($28,842 to $246,593) | Your analysts need custom rules and SAR workflow more than list data |
| Sardine | Fraud and transaction monitoring | Quote only | $95,333 ($15,000 to $254,480) | Device and behavior signals matter as much as screening |
| Alloy | Identity decisioning that orchestrates data vendors | Quote only | $62,012 ($25,625 to $137,250) | You are a bank or lender routing onboarding across several data sources |
| Persona | Identity verification with watchlist add-ons | Quote only for most plans | $30,000 ($6,000 to $262,000) | Selfie and document checks are the core need |
Two things stand out. ComplyAdvantage is one of very few vendors in this market with any public figure, and Minerva prices the same 50,000 commitment at the same $65,000, which suggests that number is a market anchor rather than an accident. Medians come from Vendr and prices from each vendor's own pricing page or AWS listing, all read on 23 October 2026. For a rival-by-rival guide, see ComplyAdvantage alternatives.
The rest of the record
What the public record does not show about ComplyAdvantage cost
Vendr's page says ComplyAdvantage "does not publish standard list pricing publicly". That is true of the website above the Starter tier and false of AWS Marketplace, where four priced cards sit in plain view. Vendr reports the median buyer at $52,900 a year, and its own guidance cites 20 to 35 percent off for volume commitments, 5 to 10 percent more for annual prepayment and renewal uplifts of about 3 to 7 percent.
The sample is small and it moves. An earlier snapshot of the same page, still showing in search results, carried a median of $112,500 from nine purchases. A median that halves between visits tells you the deals behind it differ in scope more than in negotiating skill, so never budget from it. There is no UK G-Cloud listing to cross-check, and the 24 and 36 month AWS prices are not shown in the page source.
Before you sign
How to negotiate a ComplyAdvantage quote
- Get the counting rule written down. Does a customer you stop monitoring free a slot? Does a re-screen count twice? Does a company and its beneficial owners count as one entity or several?
- Ask for the curve, not the block. The cards price 50,000 customers and 30,000 transactions. Ask what 250,000 and 1,000,000 cost, because the dollar a transaction will not hold.
- Price modules separately. If you already monitor transactions elsewhere, buy screening alone and compare it with the $65,000 card and the $52,900 median.
- Fix overage and rollover. Self-serve bills overage next cycle. On a commitment, agree the overage rate and whether unused volume carries into year two.
- Cap the renewal. Vendr reports uplifts of 3 to 7 percent. Ask for a cap at the low end, in writing, for every year of the term.
- Mind the refund line. Every AWS card says no refunds. Run a real list through a pilot before you commit a year.
Where we fit
What ComplianceOfficer does next to ComplyAdvantage
ComplyAdvantage tells you whether a name or a payment hits a list. It does not tell you when the rules your AML program is written against change: a FinCEN rule, an OFAC general license, a federal banking agency bulletin or a state money transmitter requirement. OFAC liability is strict, so a policy that lags a change is a real exposure even when every screen ran.
ComplianceOfficer keeps a register of the US rules that apply to your company, checks the primary sources every day, explains each change in plain language and drafts the policy update for every gap you mark, with an audit trail you can export for your independent test. It costs $149 a month for one owner. See how it fits a full AML compliance software stack, or compare AML transaction monitoring options and the rules on suspicious activity report filing.
Questions buyers ask
How much does ComplyAdvantage cost?
ComplyAdvantage has two public price points. Its self-serve Starter plan starts from $99 a month for 100 to 2,000 monitored entities. Its own AWS Marketplace listings price a 12-month commitment at $65,000 for 50,000 screened customers and $30,000 each for 30,000 screened payments, monitored transactions or fraud checks. Recorded contracts on Vendr have a $52,900 median.
Does ComplyAdvantage charge per search?
It charges per unit of volume, not per user. Customer screening is priced on monitored entities, which works out to $1.30 per entity a year on the 50,000 commitment listed on AWS. Payment screening, transaction monitoring and fraud detection are priced on annual transaction counts, $1.00 per transaction at the 30,000 commitment. Larger commitments are negotiated.
How much is ComplyAdvantage transaction monitoring?
ComplyAdvantage lists transaction monitoring on AWS Marketplace at $30,000 for a 12-month commitment of 30,000 annual transactions. It is not part of the self-serve Starter plan, which covers screening and ongoing monitoring of customers only. On the website, transaction monitoring and payment screening sit in the Enterprise suite, priced on application.
Is ComplyAdvantage cheaper than Sumsub?
It depends on the job. Sumsub prices its Compliance plan at $1.85 per verification with a $299 monthly minimum, and that includes AML screening and ongoing monitoring with identity verification. ComplyAdvantage prices screening alone at about $1.30 per monitored entity a year at volume. If you already verify identity elsewhere, screening-only pricing is usually cheaper per customer.
What happens if I go over my ComplyAdvantage allowance?
On the self-serve plan the system keeps working and the extra monitored customers are charged in the next billing cycle, according to ComplyAdvantage's pricing page. On annual commitments the overage rule is set in the contract, so get the per-unit overage rate and whether unused volume rolls over written into the order form before you sign.
Can you buy ComplyAdvantage on AWS Marketplace?
Yes. ComplyAdvantage sells four products on AWS Marketplace under its own seller profile: customer screening and monitoring, payment screening, transaction monitoring and fraud detection. Each has a priced 12-month commitment, plus 24 and 36 month options, and the refund field on each reads no refunds. Buying there can draw down an existing AWS spend commitment.
Keep your AML program current with the rules it is written against
A daily check of FinCEN, OFAC and the federal and state rules that apply to your company, a plain-language note on each change, and a drafted policy update for every gap. $149 a month for one owner, $298 for up to three people. Compare every plan on pricing.
